Dawn O’Connor is a certified CHA (Certified Horsemanship Association) Riding Instructor, a registered AQHA Professional Horseman, and she also carries American Red Cross First Aid and CPR Certifications. Dawn is a graduate of Southwest Missouri State University with a B.S. degree in Animal Science emphasizing Equine Science. Dawn has over 20 years of experience in the Equine Industry.
Assistant Stable Operator:
Emma Mckinnon is the Assistant Stable Operator and CHA certified riding instructor at the Sac River Stables, LLC. She graduated with a Master’s degree from Western Illinois University with the intention of teaching history but has instead combined her love of teaching with her love of horses. Emma teaches both English and Western horsemanship and trains horses for her clients. When Emma is not working with students and horses, she endurance trains her Arabian gelding, Haji. They have ridden many miles on trails and endurance races. Originally from Good Hope, Illinois, Emma and her husband, Dave, live in Springfield. They enjoy square dancing and the company of their grandchildren.
